Beacons and satellite technology for integrated navigation
Thanks to the Kimap navigation system Kinoa has developed further innovative solutions to offer support to integrated outdoor and indoor navigation. The objective is to constantly accompany a user on the route from his home to inside a building, enabling him to easily find his way around inside.
The satellite positioning system is the guide for part of the navigation services offered by Kinoa; but the innovative technology used goes beyond this, enabling the user to enter a building without loss of orientation. Together with GPS, Galileo and Glonass, the use of low energy, long-life Bluetooth Beacons allows users to be located during their movements inside buildings.
Outdoor navigation systems
Kinoa creates personalized navigation applications to simplify people’s movements. Development of this technology is addressed primarily to people with temporary or permanent disabilities (motor, visual, etc.) with the aim of guiding users along urban roads and extra-urban routes.
The navigation software automatically updates maps during use, enabling routing algorithms to find the best way to arrive at a destination, based on the chosen mobility aid.
Indoor navigation systems
Thanks to the convergence between various guidance systems, Kinoa is also able to offer apps also for navigating inside buildings, overcoming obstacles in planning an itinerary or an experience inside a structure. The user will find it easier to make his way to a hospital appointment or to take a train at a large railway station.
The combined use of beacon technology and navigation algorithms developed by Kinoa opens up the door to public and private facilities, making them more accessible, reachable and connected. In this way hospitals, museums, railway stations, tourist villages, airports and shopping centres will create a direct connection with the user, accompanying him in his experience inside the structure.
